NY AI Engineers: Jan Tech Talk w/ Glean, FlutterFlow, & Alaffia Presenting

Tuesday, January 21st, 2026 @ 6:00pm – 8:00pm 25 Kent Ave (Ground Floor), Brooklyn, NY

Hosted by Fonzi

Every month, NYC's AI engineering community gathers for an evening of technical deep dives, hard-earned lessons, and the kind of conversations you can't have on LinkedIn. No vendor pitches. No surface-level overviews. Just engineers sharing real projects, real challenges, and how they actually solved them.

This month, we're featuring engineers from Glean, FlutterFlow, and Alaffia Health; three companies pushing AI in very different directions.

Why You Should Come

If you're building with LLMs, shipping AI features to production, wrestling with RAG pipelines, or just trying to figure out what actually works beyond the hype, this is your community.

Every talk is built to give you something actionable: architectural patterns you can steal, debugging strategies that work, honest takes on what failed, and the occasional "wait, you can do that?" revelation.

What to Expect

The Evening:

  • 6:00–6:45pm: Network over pizza, beer, and wine (courtesy of Fonzi AI)

  • 6:45–6:50pm: Quick welcome and kickoff

  • 6:50–7:35pm: Three 10-minute technical talks with 5-minute Q&A sessions

  • 7:35–8:00pm: Hang with the speakers and continue the conversation

This Month's Speakers:

  • Rohan Dhoopar - Software Engineer @ Glean

  • Anthony Tortorello - Founding Engineer @ Alaffia Health

  • Abhinav Lalwani - AI Engineer @ FlutterFlow

Each speaker will walk through a real-world AI engineering project—complete with the technical details, things that went wrong, and what they learned along the way.

Who You'll Meet

The room is typically packed with ML engineers, fullstack developers exploring AI, data scientists building production systems, and technical founders knee-deep in AI products. It's casual but high-signal—the kind of crowd that genuinely geeks out over prompt optimization and model fine-tuning over pizza.

About the Community

New York AI Engineers has a 4.8 rating from 193 reviews because we keep it real and consistent. This isn't a networking free-for-all or a thinly veiled sales event, it's a space for engineers to learn from each other's work and build genuine connections in NYC's AI scene.
