The Match Day Playbook

Every Monday, we open a hiring window where companies send salary-backed interview requests to engineers they want to meet. Candidates then decide who they want to talk to.

Match Day is Fonzi's weekly hiring process where the most exciting tech companies send salary-backed interview requests directly to software engineers.

Apply

Once you apply, a Concierge Recruiter reviews your profile and sets up a quick screening call. That call serves two purposes. First, it verifies that every candidate on the platform is real, so you're never competing against fake or fraudulent profiles the way you do on other job platforms. Second, it gives our team a chance to understand what you're looking for and what makes you unique, so we can help you position yourself for maximum success.

Before
Match Day

From there, your Concierge Recruiter helps you sharpen your profile, resume, and LinkedIn. Our recruiters work directly with every company on Fonzi, so they know what each team is hiring for, what matters to them in a candidate, and how to help you stand out. That context gets passed to you before Match Day even starts.

Once your profile is ready, you get accepted into the upcoming Match Day candidate pool. You can see which companies are participating and start thinking about where you want to land.

During
Match Day

Every Monday, the Match Day window opens. Companies have 72 hours to review candidate profiles and send salary-backed interview requests to the engineers they want to meet. Once that window closes, candidates have another 24 hours to review their requests, see the role and compensation upfront, and decide whether to move forward.

Candidates can also signal interest to companies you'd like to hear from. It goes both ways.

After
Match Day

Once you accept an interview request, the process moves quickly. Your Concierge Recruiter stays with you through every step, from interview prep to offer negotiation. The timeline varies by company, but Fonzi is built for speed. Our fastest placement went from Match Day to a signed offer in 7 days.

Match Day is built for top engineers looking to join hyper-growth tech companies.

Whether you're a backend engineer, ML practitioner, full-stack developer, or infrastructure specialist, if you want your next role to be at a company building something meaningful, Match Day is for you. There's no minimum experience requirement. We have roles at every level.

If you're looking for a role at a large public tech company, Match Day probably isn't the right fit. The companies on Fonzi are startups and growth-stage companies that move fast and hire with intent.
